HP Touchpad: Wireless Charging

One feature that Palm has been praised for since CES 2009 has been their unique Touchstone charging technology.  Well, now with HP in control it's no different - with phones still using it, and a newer version being adapted for their tablet as well.  While Powermap and other 3rd party accessories can charge other cell phones inductively, HP is the only company to have a solution for charging a tablet without plugging it in.

You just set the device on the touchstone and it starts charging.  And if you aren't in the middle of an app, you can set the Touchstone to load up the calendar, Facebook, Twitter, Photos, or dozens of other Exhibition modes to act like a smart "screensaver" while the device is charging.  And even cooler - with the new touchstone it remembers which touchstone your device is on so you can have different touchstones load up different modes.  For example, a touchstone in your bedroom might load the clock exhibition, while a touchstone at your desk might load stocks or photos.

The new touchstone can be set at different angles, and can charge HP smartphones as well.  It is a little pricey - starting at $80; but I think its well worth it for the convenience it provides.  Here's a video advertising the touchstone:
